Hi, I'm Tani. I created this community in order to have a place to post translations of Japanese song lyrics without needing to feel awkward about cluttering up my personal journal. I posted one translation, and promptly stopped posting entirely. Clearly, I cared a bunch about those song lyrics.

However, I've recently been feeling the translation itch, but hesitating over joining a scanlation group. That's when I came up with a brilliant idea. I could translate some of the light novels that I bought the last time I went to Japan. That would allow me to flex the translation muscle, but avoid feeling obligated. Plus, it would motivate me to actually read those books that I've been lugging around for the past several years. It seemed win-win!

So, here I am. My first project is Read or Die Volume 1. I've never seen the anime, never read the manga, and know only the basics of the plot. I'm translating a bit at a time, and posting the unedited result as I go. This is just for fun for me, but you're welcome to tag along and see how it goes. (And if you catch any grammar boo-boos, please let me know. I am not really proofreading these.)
